I absolutely love the glowing comments that I receive on each blog post that I write, folks who tell me that I should have won a pulitzer and that I should buy cialis, competitors who let me know that they really agree with me so that they can get an inbound link off of my web to theirs, to the fine folks who leave mumbo jumbo and embed malicious code in the comments. I do sincerely appreciate the legitimate blog comments I get, but I have to say, it truly becomes a chore to sift through the garbage.
So, here are some general pointers about commenting on anyone’s blog:
1.) Comment on someone’s blog post to help further a dialogue, NOT to help further your page rank.
2.) Comment on someone’s blog to encourage them to write more, NOT to sell Viagra.
3.) Comment on someone’s blog to disagree or further a discussion with fact / observations / opinions based on experience, NOT to enlighten the world with your new hair loss magic potion.
4.) Comment on other’s blogs to ask questions and LEARN more, NOT to inject harmful and malicious code into their blog software.
5.) Comment on other’s blogs because it truly interests you and because you want that person’s blog to grow and thrive, NOT to sell SEO and PROMISE top ten results.
The bottom line is this: People see through BS. People are not stupid. If you’re trying to push a project or piggy tail off of someone else’s success, start your own blog with your own original ideas. The Internet is all about sharing thoughts / facts / opinions, etc, not pushing garbage on others.
